Concertina Book Landscapes is a fun and experimental approach to creating landscape paintings.

Saturday 24th June 10am-4pm £70

In this full-day workshop I will guide you through each stage to construct and paint your book. We will begin by creating the foundation layers with drawing, mark making and collaging onto paper which we will cut, glue and fold into our concertina books.

After lunch we will begin painting onto our books.

There will be a choice of materials for you to use including: Various papers, inks, pencils, crayons, pastels and acrylic paints.

Workshop timings:

10.00am - 10.30am Welcome, outline of activities, techniques and materials.

10.30am - 12.30pm Foundation stages and concertina book construction.

12.30pm - 1.30pm Lunch break (Refreshments available in the cafe or bring your own packed lunch to eat in the studio and chat!).

1.30pm - 3.30pm Landscape painting.

3.30pm - 4.00pm Review and finish.

You will leave with a beautiful piece of artwork that you can display at home and some skills and techniques to inspire future landscape drawing and painting projects.

Some experience of making landscape drawings or paintings may be helpful but, as always, I welcome all abilities and experience levels! Why not come along and give it a go?

All materials provided.

Just bring along overalls, aprons or clothes you don’t mind getting messy in.
