Make Your Own Drawing Tools is a fun and experimental workshop where we will explore the unique and interesting marks, patterns, textures and lines that we can create by using our own home-made tools.

The workshop will start with tool making using many various materials (recycled items, household items, foraged items) we will then work on mark making/drawing and painting excercises with our new tools, modifying as we go.

Workshop timings:

9.30am - 9.45am Welcome, outline of activities, techniques and materials.

9.45am - 11.45am Forage, construct, trial and modify tools. Guided mark making activities with your new tools.

11.45am - 12pm Review, clean down and finish.

This workshop is really great for helping to loosen-up and enliven your approach to drawing and painting.

You will leave with fab new art making tools and some artworks created with them, along with new skills, knowledge and techniques to use in your future creative projects.

All materials provided. All abilities welcome.

Just bring along overalls, an apron or clothes you don’t mind getting messy in. A waterproof coat might be handy for the first part of the workshop where we will be outside foraging for materials.
