Art and Yoga Day Retreat

  • Weston Hills Village Hall Broad Gate Weston Hills, England, PE12 6DB United Kingdom (map)

A day retreat of art followed by deep relaxation with yoga nidra and sound bath…

10am-4pm

£60 per person, includes all art materials and light refreshments.

I am delighted to be collaborating on this one day retreat with the wonderful Kate ‘Tushti’ Tingey a yoga teacher who specialises in sound therapy.

THE MORNING:

We will spend a relaxing morning creating art. I will lead you through intuitive, process based exercises to encourage meditative creativity. We will try a mixture of mediums, materials and approaches including action painting, mark making, collage and drawing. Our aim to get lost in the playful flow of making art. There will be no critical judgment of the art we make and everyone will be able to create something unique by the end of the morning. All experience levels are welcome - all you need is a willingness to have a go!

LUNCH BREAK:

We will take a break for you to have something to eat. Please bring along a packed lunch with you. We will provide light refreshments throughout the day (tea, coffee and some homemade cakes).

THE AFTERNOON:

A few gentle accessible movements (done either from the floor or a chair) of the body ready to then settle into stillness (15 minutes).

Yoga Nidra – A deeply relaxing and fully supported practice (no postures involved) with Guided Visualisation. Done either lying on the floor or seated on a chair with your cosy covers and socks on to keep warm (45 minutes).

Gentle breathing practice with meditation (15 minutes).

Mantra, Gongs & Sounds Bath – Creating a relaxing, meditative state, bathing the mind and body with Mantra and sounds from Gongs, Bowls, Chimes and other soothing instruments. Done either lying on the floor or seated on a chair with your cosy covers and socks on to keep warm (45 minutes).

WHAT TO BRING:

A yoga or exercise mat if you are able to lie on the floor or a camping/easy type chair if you’d rather be seated.

A blanket/duvet and socks to keep warm and a cushion to support the head for Relaxation & Gongs/Sounds Bath.

A pen and notebook – in case you have any ‘light bulb’ moments you want to make a note of.

Please note:

  • Sound Baths, Healing, Therapy: if in the first three months of pregnancy or experiencing serious mental health issues then advice from your medical advisers ought to be sought before-hand.  For those with pacemakers, heart conditions, metal implants, tinnitus or hearing aids it is suggested that no sound instrument be placed upon the body.

  • Please check with your medical advisers if you have any concern about your ability to participate in the practices of Yoga and Sound Healing, Therapy and Experiences.

  • You (and your medical advisers) know your physical, mental and emotional well-being best of all and, in being responsible for your own well-being, please do what is right for you so that your Yoga and Sound Bath, Healing or Therapy becomes your unique, special and enjoyable experience.
