Shadow in the landscape

All experiences in our lives shape our work…

What is my relationship to this landscape?

How does this relationship influence my work?

Isolation

Escapism

Liminality

Shrinking

Anonymity

Irrelevance of self

Macropsia

Finding self

Inhabitiveness

Belonging

Other

Blurred realities

Distorted perceptions

Imagined aerial view

Memory view, not a real view

Why do I take so many shadow photographs? Why do I chose to represent myself in the landscape in this way? What do these self portraits mean? A way to control my image within the landscape. Hiding, not fully seen. Over the landscape, projection onto the ground/land.

The shadow leaves no trace. You can still see the ground beneath, not opaque. Lack of solidity.

What do I leave behind? Nothing? Footsteps only? Prints only? A change in the shape of the air.

Interested in traces of human occupation, disturbances on the land, others not my own.
